The Sydney and Walda Besthoff Sculpture Garden at the New Orleans Museum of Art is one of the preeminent sculpture gardens in the United States. Since its inception in 2003, the garden has grown to include more than 90 sculptures, donated by the Sydney and Walda Besthoff Foundation. It's one of the most renowned sculpture gardens globally, complete with a sculpture pavilion, an amphitheater, and an architecturally significant canal link bridge. The now twelve acre garden is free to the public and hosts outdoor programs including festivals, performances, concerts, tours, and more.

This book is an up-to-date survey of the Sydney and Walda Besthoff Sculpture Garden. It explores the history of this award-winning space and highlights works from its superb collection, from neoclassical, modern, and contemporary sculptures, ranging from the 19th to 21st centuries. It provides in-depth entries on each of the outstanding sculptures in the garden, and an exploration of the vision of the Garden’s founding patrons: Sydney and Walda Besthoff. With stunning photography and detailed information on the Garden’s artwork and adjacent plant life, Where Art Meets Nature is sure to be a useful reference guide for years to come.
